On April 30, more than 500 people accompanied by a lot of lucky dogs attended the Humane Society Silicon Valley’s (HSSV) annual black-tie fundraiser, the Fur Ball, where more than half a million dollars was raised to benefit shelter animals.
This year’s theme, “Carnival of the Animals,” was a Venetian-style masked ball, and a festive mood prevailed. Event festivities included a wine tasting with 12 wineries represented, a magnificent sit-down dinner, and dancing to the Lycratones. An inspiring short film about HSSV’s literally life-saving work with medically challenged animals moved and inspired the crowd. It was an evening to remember and fabulous way to fill the HSSV coffers. Stay tuned to www.hssv.org for next year’s date and don’t miss it!
